
Rosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez June 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakthrough came through her portrayal of Tina in the film Do the Right Thing (1989), which was followed by White Men Can't Jump (1992). Perez's performance on Fearless (1993) brought her an nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress as well as other accolades. Perez has starred in many films since then with some of them being It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado ((2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2021). She was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, one for In Living Color (1990-1994), and another nomination for her performance in the role of The Flight Attendant (2020-2021). She has been in stage plays on Broadway such as The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. She also co-hosted The View's 18th season on ABC's talk show The View. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. [11] In 1999 her mother was in the middle class of Woodside Houses when she died due to AIDS-related issues.
