Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family kids who would grow with them eventually. She learned young how to overcome of her difficulties with her incredibly vibrant imagination. Prior to learning how to write and read Dolly Parton was composing her own songs. After 8 years of age, she was playing her first guitar. At age 11 she started singing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. In the following the year that Gold Band Records was an independent label. The singer established a name on the local circuit while in high school, however she dreamed of a bigger stage. On the 14th of March, 1964, after her high school graduation her family moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female vocalist for his show that was syndicated from the beginning. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed in 1969 with RCA Records. The show ended in 1974, as her own songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it debuted at Number. 1. for the first time since 1974.
